| Bear Activity in TrailMark! 6/8/10 Update: A young adult bear was sighted on TrailMark Parkway. It turned north on Flower Way. It moved so fast that the resident lost sight of the Bear about half way down Flower Way. Authorities were notified. Bears are once again being spotted in TrailMark. They have been spotted digging through trash and drinking from a hummingbird feeder. Bears are curious, intelligent, and very resourceful. Black bears will explore all possible food sources. If they find food near homes, they’ll come back for more. They can easily damage property, vehicles, and homes. Bears that become aggressive in their pursuit of an easy meal must often be destroyed. Every time the Colorado Division of Wildlife is forced to destroy a bear, it’s not just the bear that loses. We all lose a little piece of the wildness that makes Colorado so special. Please do your part to keep bears wild. Bring your trash in at night and don’t put your trash out the night before. This can decrease the chance of bear activity from 70% to less than 5%. If the bears don’t find a food source in TrailMark, they will head elsewhere and back to their natural habitat.
